Celtic pundit Laura Bradburn has made it clear that she wants Eddie Howe to replace Neil Lennon at Parkhead.

Bradburn was a guest on the latest episode of the ‘A Celtic State of Mind’ podcast and the panel discussed multiple issues involving the Bhoys. One topic of discussion was potential replacements for Lennon and Bradburn believes that Celtic are the sort of club that would bring the best out of Howe and his abilities.

It has been reported that Howe, 43, has already been contacted by Celtic to potentially replace Lennon. The Englishman left Bournemouth at the end of the 2019/20 campaign – eight years after starting his second stint at the south coast club.

Bradburn hailed the manner in which Howe managed Bournemouth and she believes that he would be the ‘standout option’ for the Bhoys.

Is Eddie Howe exactly what Celtic need?

She said: “Personally, my choice would be – and I know he’s become less and less popular as time’s gone on – my choice would be Eddie Howe. He’s available, he didn’t particularly leave Bournemouth because of – you know, they weren’t playing great when he left, I get that, but I mean, you’re talking about a guy who was there for seven or eight years, probably his message just got a bit stale at the club. The rise that he took them on over his time there and the football he was playing – he got them to a point where they were almost considered a solid Premier League side, which for a club with a size of Bournemouth is quite an achievement.

“And I just think that although in recent years he’s not been as great, I think a fresh challenge for him with a club the size of Celtic would bring out the best in him and probably allow us to play a certain brand of football.

“He would be the standout choice, for me.”

TIF Thoughts on Laura Bradburn’s comments regarding Eddie Howe…

Throughout Howe’s time at the club, the Cherries earned promotion from League Two to the Premier League. In their second season in the Premier League, Howe’s men finished as high as ninth (as per Transfermarkt).

That is a reflection of how good a manager Howe is and it shows his qualities too. It has been reported by Jim White that he’s already had a golfing session with Peter Lawwell and it suggests that something could be going on behind the scenes. So because of how well Howe did at Bournemouth, he might be a good option to replace Lennon in the future.
