Lots of Newcastle United fans on Twitter have been sharing their criticism for Toon midfielder Sean Longstaff for his performance in the first half of the club’s Carabao Cup quarter-final against Championship side Brentford.
Steve Bruce’s side headed into this midweek cup clash after a 1-1 draw against Fulham in the Premier League, but during the first half, many Toon supporters took to Twitter to share their disappointment at Longstaff’s display.
So, what did these Newcastle fans have to say about Longstaff’s first-half performance against Brentford?

Is Sean Longstaff really as slow as he looks out there? Or just lazy? #CarabaoCup #BRENEW #NUFC

Can’t wait for the day we never have to see Shelvey or Longstaff pretending to be decent midfielders

Looking at this bunch of tweets from this group of Newcastle fans, it’s clear to see that they haven’t been totally impressed by what they’ve seen from Longstaff in the first half against Brentford.
Given how the 23-year-old has only managed to earn himself a poor season rating of 6.37/10 for his performances in the 10 Premier League games he’s played in so far this season, it’s not exactly surprising he has been on the receiving end of this criticism.
Unless Bruce decides to take him off the pitch and out of the firing line, he will need to put a better shift in during the second half to get these Toon fans back on his side.
