Supporters of Leeds United have flocked to a claim that was made by Marcelo Bielsa regarding what the Whites are planning in the January transfer window.
According to a tweet from BBC journalist Adam Pope, Bielsa claimed United “are not looking to bring in another centre-back in the transfer market”.
This is due to the fact that Luke Ayling, Pascal Struijk and Kalvin Phillips have all ‘successfully adapted‘ to the role.
The claim from the Elland Road club’s Argentine manager comes after it was announced that Robin Koch was having knee surgery after aggravating an injury in the 3-1 defeat against Chelsea (per BBC).
After the tweet was shared by Pope, lots of Leeds fans flocked to it to air their responses.
So, what did these Leeds fans have to say about the claim from Marcelo Bielsa?
Bielsa says: “We are not looking to bring in another centre back in the transfer market.” He refers to Ayling, Struijk & Phillips all having successfully adapted to the role. #lufc

I love this. Man U would blame every defeat on losing their CB then spend 80m on one in Jan. Bielsa isn’t concerned about losing his.

Ayling and koch have been our best pairing this season

During his press conference, Bielsa revealed that Koch could be out for three months and also that Diego Llorente is out for two weeks with a muscle issue (per Phil Hay).
Llorente has made just one appearance for Leeds in the Premier League this season whereas his German counterpart has had 11 outings in the top flight (per WhoScored).
Do Leeds need to buy a new centre-back in January?
No, it's not needed
Yes, I think we do
Why not one centre back who’s legs aren’t made of pink wafers?

Good move! Don’t see any reason paying over the odds for a CB in January – just about staying in prem this season ??

Far out I love this man’s attitude but at the same time I think most other teams have more than one centre back. https://t.co/D3J3dl0Mwg

Ayling and Phillips at a massive cost to the team dynamics and Struijk has had one decent performance and rather more iffy ones.

As can be seen in these responses from Leeds fans, there was a mixed reaction regarding Bielsa’s plan to not bring in another centre-back in January.
