Leeds United fans on Facebook have been sharing their thoughts on the possibility of the Yorkshire club making a transfer move for Manchester United winger Dan James.

This comes after Leeds United Live shared a post on their official Facebook page that contained an article from Leeds Live relaying news originally published in The Sun.

Nice easy one to start off with, what number does Phillips wear for Leeds United?

The article claims that Brighton & Hove Albion manager Graham Potter will ask the Manchester club if they would be willing to let James go out on loan.

With James having also been linked with a loan move to Elland Road in the upcoming January transfer window, this post then gathered a lot of replies from Leeds fans who were not shy in airing their thoughts on a potential loan move for the Welshman.

So, what did these Leeds fans make of this post?

One Leeds fan was not interested in signing James in January.

Other Leeds fans were quite keen to see the winger join the club.

There were some Leeds fans responding to the post who were of the opinion that the club should look at signing players in other positions instead of another winger.

James signed to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side back in the 2019 summer transfer window from Championship club Swansea City for a fee of £16 million.

Since then, the 23-year-old, who is currently valued at £14.4 million, has made 53 appearances for United in which he has managed to score six goals and provide seven assists along the way (per Transfermarkt).

Looking at these replies, it seems that the idea of signing James in January has completely split the opinions of this group of Leeds supporters.

Should Leeds try and sign James on loan in January?

Yes

No

No

In our view, with Leeds having Raphinha, Helder Costa, Jack Harrison and Ian Poveda that can play on the wings, maybe adding James to their squad would be a tad unnecessary.

Also, with Marcelo Bielsa’s side having conceded 13 goals in their four previous league games, maybe signing a defender in January would be a more sensible choice.
