On the topic of Dursun and his previous link to Derby back in the previous summer transfer window, Conway had this to say on the matter.

He said: “My understanding is that right now, as Mel Morris owns the football club right now, my understanding is they want to go back in for Dursun in January – his price will be a lot lower in January.

“They want to go back in for him, the player wants to come. However, there is going to be a change of ownership; that might change the targets. But right now, as we speak right here and now, they want him, they still want him and he still wants to come to the club.”

The 29-year-old, who is currently valued at £1.35 million, signed to Darmstadt back in the 2018 summer transfer window for a fee of £315k.

Since then, the striker has made 81 appearances for the club in which he has managed to score 36 goals and provide 17 assists along the way (per Transfermarkt).

TIF Thoughts on Ryan Conway’s comments on Dursun…

With Derby on the verge of a club takeover, there’s every possibility that this could change Derby’s current transfer stance in their reported pursuit of Dursun, as Conway suggested in his video.

However, with Derby having only managed to score six goals in their 14 played league games so far this season and the fact that Dursun has already scored that many himself in just nine league games, this shows that the club could do with someone with his goalscoring prowess in their team at this moment in time.
