Many Celtic fans have been talking about Fraser Forster after a report emerged on social media.
Football Insider recently reported that it is ‘unlikely’ that Celtic will move for Forster in the January transfer window because of the player’s contract at Southampton and the Premier League team’s need to sign a potential replacement for the Englishman.
A permanent deal for the goalkeeper is reportedly ‘almost out of the question’ for the Hoops, while a loan deal seems off the cards as Ralph Hasenhuttl wants to have competition in the team for current number-one, Alex McCarthy.
Read Celtic relayed a tweet about this information on their Twitter account. This tweet caught the attention of many Celtic fans.

Football is a business with no room for sentiment , get him signed if we want the 10 a year isn’t going to kill anyone and the club is going to be redesigned after this year in any case !

Forster had joined Celtic on loan from Southampton for the 2019/20 campaign and became a regular between the sticks for the club. He made 39 appearances in all competitions for the club last season and in 28 Premiership games, he kept 14 clean sheets for the Bhoys (as per Transfermarkt).
Neil Lennon previously revealed that while Celtic had an agreement with Southampton to re-sign Forster in the summer, things went quiet from the player’s end of the deal and a move didn’t happen (as per Sky Sports).
Some other Celtic fans also gave their opinions about this update involving Forster.
For me his times past. Signed 4 times, 3 loans I think, and left 4 times. What does that say. Weve a decent young keeper in Barkas and he must get his chance.

If there’s any truth in this, and I was Barkas, I’d down tools, refuse to play and force an exit.
So disrespectful and indicative of how Tin Pot our club actually is. https://t.co/qRudKzUcz8

Let him rot in the Southampton reserves

While some of these Celtic fans would like Forster to return to Parkhead, some of them don’t want Celtic to re-sign the Englishman in the summer.
It was reported that Forster had decided to stay at Southampton in the summer as he wanted to fight for his place at the Premier League club. Celtic ended up signing Vasilis Barkas from AEK Athens in the summer transfer window for an initial fee of £2.95 million.
Because of the fact that Forster didn’t want a move back to Parkhead and since Celtic now already have Barkas, it is understandable why some fans don’t want the 32-year-old to return to the club.
