Celtic fans have flocked to Twitter to share their criticism for Hoops defender Shane Duffy after their Europa League defeat to Sparta Prague.

Coming off the back of a 2-0 win over Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup, Neil Lennon’s side couldn’t find a win on Thursday evening, falling to a 4-1 defeat at Celtic Park.

Starting with an easy one - which club was McGregor loaned out to in the 2013-14 season?

One Celtic player, in particular, caught the attention of a lot of Hoops fans, for all the wrong reasons.

So, what did these Celtic fans make of Duffy’s performance last night?

Three goals from Lukas Julis and one from Ladislav Krejci secured the win for Sparta Prague, whilst Celtic’s Leigh Griffiths managed to score a consolation goal for the Hoops.

Celtic signed Duffy, who is currently valued at £8.55 million, on a season-long loan deal from Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion.

Glasgow Live gave Duffy a poor match rating of 4/10, saying that he “continues to look uneasy in the Celtic defence” and that his overall performance was “not good.”

Looking at these tweets from this group of Celtic fans, it’s clear to see that they aren’t impressed by what they have seen from Duffy in his latest appearance for the club.

The best thing Duffy and Celtic can do now would be to put this defeat behind them and focus on their 2020/21 SPFL campaign.
