Many Celtic supporters have flocked to social media in order to react to a Twitter post from Odsonne Edouard in which he shared a photograph, originally posted by @equipedefrance of him and his teammates after the French Under-21s secured their place in the 2021 European Championships.
Edouard joined the Hoops from French football, Paris Saint-Germain specifically, back in the summer of 2018 in a deal worth £9.27m (as per Transfermarkt). Since his arrival at Celtic Park, the 22-year-old has made 139 appearances, scoring an impressive 66 goals and providing his teammates with 33 assists.
How have a sample of the Celtic supporters responded to Odsonne Edouard’s social media post?

We need u 100% for celtic Big man. U are an unreal talent but great players don’t let off field issues or bosses etc bother them. You’ll eventually get your huge move but few great ones will want u if u don’t perform for us. Be a hero & then leave head held high.

We can assume from the above responses that many of these Celtic supporters feel as though the player’s performances at club level of late haven’t been up to his usual standards. Although Edouard has managed four goals in eight Scottish Premiership appearances this season, it is worth noting that three of those goals came on the opening day of the season versus Hamilton Academical (as per Transfermarkt).
Do you think Edouard has had his head turned?
Yes
No
In our view, despite an uncharacteristically slow start to the campaign for the £13.5m-rated Frenchman which included some time out following a positive virus test, his previous record in Scottish football suggests he has the ability to rediscover some of his best form before too long.
