Many Celtic fans have been fuming at the performance of Scott Bain in the club’s recent 4-1 win over Motherwell.

Mohamed Elyounoussi picked up a hat-trick against Motherwell on Sunday, with Olivier Ntcham also scoring in a convincing victory. Before the game at Fir Park, Celtic had won just a single game in their last six outings (as per BBC Sport).

Bain started the game between the sticks for the Bhoys. However, some Celtic fans weren’t pleased with the goalkeeper’s performance at the weekend. The goalkeeper had let in a Declan Gallagher header following a set piece from the home side to set up a tense finale before Elyounoussi completed his treble – with some criticising the Scot’s positioning for the goal and his overall performance level.

Bain has now made six appearances in all competitions for the Bhoys this season, starting the club’s last two league games as well as last week’s delayed cup semi-final win and each of the last two Europa League games (as per Transfermarkt).

The 28-year-old has picked up a rating of 6.32/10 in the Premiership and picked up a rating of 6.44 in the Europa League so far (as per WhoScored). Some other Celtic fans also made their opinions clear about Bain’s performance against Motherwell.

Clearly, Celtic fans weren’t too pleased with Bain’s performance and some of them want him to be dropped.

Bain picked up a rating of 6.45 in the game on Sunday and in the Celtic team, while only substitute Shane Duffy picked up a lower rating than him on the day (as per WhoScored).

So clearly, it wasn’t an especially impressive performance from the Scotsman and because of that, it is understandable why Celtic fans aren’t happy with him.
