Celtic pundit Kevin Graham has recently made a claim about why Neil Lennon will get more time to turn things around at Parkhead.

Graham made an appearance on the latest episode of the ‘A Celtic State of Mind’ podcast and the panel discussed multiple issues involving the Bhoys. Graham talked about Lennon and he believes that the club’s board will give him more time to turn things around at Parkhead.

The Hoops are 11 points behind the Gers in the Premiership table and the Bhoys have won just one of their last four league games following their dramatic draw last weekend at Hibernian. They have also been held to a draw by Aberdeen and lost the Old Firm derby in recent weeks, while picking up a 4-1 win at Motherwell earlier this month (as per Transfermarkt).

Will Lennon last till the Scottish Cup final?

Graham believes that Lennon is being given the chance to help the club win a quadruple-treble.

He said: “It is very difficult to actually see any other outcome rather than them giving Neil more time to actually turn it around. As I said, they’d be admitting that they got it wrong if they don’t give Neil time to turn it around. I think part of their thinking will also be that he’s got a chance to win the quadruple-treble.

“I think they’ll give him [until] December the 20th and possibly the 2nd of January, and if we get beaten on the 2nd of January, I think they’ll make a change then.”

TIF Thoughts on Graham’s comments about Neil Lennon’s future…

Celtic play in the Scottish Cup final on the 20th of December and winning that game will make sure of the fact that they won a treble in the 2019/20 campaign.

They face Rangers in the Old Firm derby on the 2nd of January and losing that game could result in an increase in the lead that the Gers have at the top of the table. It would make things even tougher for Celtic, when it comes to their chase of a 10th Premiership title in a row.

Because of how important those two games are, Graham is right to say that those ties could well decide Lennon’s fate at Parkhead.
