Celtic podcaster Aaron Connolly has given his opinion about Neil Lennon’s position as the club’s manager.

Connolly was a guest on the latest episode of the Cynic Weekly podcast and the panel discussed multiple issues involving the Bhoys. Connolly gave his opinion about Celtic’s recent run of form and he believes that malaise has set in at Parkhead and he doesn’t see any other solution apart from sacking Lennon.

Celtic are currently second in the Premiership table and are nine points behind the Gers and have two games in hand. They are also at the bottom of their Europa League group and they have picked up just one point from three games in the competition.

Connolly doesn’t see things turning around at Parkhead and he gave his opinion about the situation. He said: “Perhaps, there’s an element of me that maybe I need a bit more fire in the belly in terms of being a fan and we’ve all had it a bit easy for the last nine years and I can accept that, but what we’re seeing right now in Celtic is a malaise, an over-confidence that’s just absolutely horrendous.

“I don’t see this turning around anytime soon, and I hate to say it, but I can’t see any other action other than removing the manager from his post, regardless of what the next few results are like.”

TIF Thoughts on Connolly’s comments regarding Neil Lennon…

Celtic had lost to Rangers in the last game of 2019 last season and as a result, found themselves only two points ahead of the Gers, who had a game in hand. Despite that, Lennon’s men recovered and didn’t lose a single league game in the second half of the 2019/20 campaign, leading to their ninth Premiership title in a row.

This is a sign of the fact that Lennon’s team knows how to come back strong from setbacks and the side might want to draw inspiration from their performance in the second half of last season. That might help them get the confidence they need to improve their performances this season and get the campaign back on track.
