Journalist John McGinley has recently made a claim about the possibility of Kristoffer Ajer and Mohamed Elyounoussi featuring for the Bhoys in their upcoming game against Hibernian.
McGinley was a guest on the latest episode of The Grand Auld Podcast and the panel discussed multiple issues involving the Bhoys. McGinley is confident that Ajer and Elyounoussi will be able to feature for the club in their upcoming game against Hibernian despite having been told to quarantine for 10 days.
Norway’s Omar Elabdellaoui had tested positive for the virus and the players of the team were unable to leave Oslo for a game against Romania. As a result, Ajer and Elyounoussi have been permitted to return to Glasgow if they complete a 10-day period of isolation (as per the Daily Record).

McGinley feels that both the players will be allowed to play against Hibs as they’ve not been in close contact with anyone.
He said: “The difficult thing is that I was looking forward to having Ajer back after the international break, he was injured against Motherwell but there are all such quarantine issues with him and Elyounoussi.
“They are returning to Scotland, which is good, so they’re not going to be staying in Norway.
“I think they’ll be okay to play. I don’t think the Scottish authorities will make them quarantine because I don’t actually think they’ve been in close contact with anyone.”

It has been reported that the situation of Ajer and Elyounoussi will be decided by the authorities in Glasgow, while there have also been claims that the duo are ‘set to be cleared‘ to play this weekend for Celtic. Both players have already tested negative.
Ajer has been Celtic’s seventh-best performer in the league campaign so far and Elyounoussi recently scored a hat-trick against Motherwell in the Premiership. He also scored a brace for the club in the Europa League game against Lille (as per Transfermarkt).
They are clearly important players and because of that, Celtic can only hope that the players are cleared to play against Hibs.
