Spurs signed Doherty in the previous summer transfer window from fellow Premier League side Wolves for a fee of £15.12 million.
Remind me why we are playing international games still? Or did I miss the global pandemic spiking again?!

While away on international duty, Doherty played the full 90 minutes in both of the Republic of Ireland’s matches so far this month against England and Wales (per Transfermarkt).

One Spurs fan though saw this news as an opportunity for Serge Aurier to get a chance in the team.

Looking at the replies to this post, it would appear that the majority of these Spurs fans are not happy that Doherty has now tested positive while away on international duty.
With Doherty having earned a solid season rating of 7.06/10 for his performances in the Premier League for Spurs so far this season, he will surely a miss for the club until he’s fit to play again.
However, with Aurier on an impressive season rating of 8.06, this shows that he has what it takes to fill in for the Irishman for the time being.
