Charlie Adam has recently tipped Celtic to hire former Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Adam recently appeared on the latest episode of PLZ Soccer’s The Football Show and the panel discussed multiple issues involving Scottish football.

One topic of discussion was the club’s managerial situation and Neil Lennon. Adam talked about this issue and he tipped the club to hire Pochettino as a replacement for Lennon.

It has been reported that Lennon will hold a meeting with the Celtic hierarchy on Monday to discuss his future and this comes after the club’s loss to Ross County in the second round of the League Cup.

It has previously been reported that the club has already contacted Eddie Howe, Martin O’Neill and Roy Keane.

Adam said: “Dermot Desmond can pull anything out of the [hat], he’s got enough money. Could Pochettino be the one? Could he throw Pochettino in the mix? Because he’s got no job, come in, rebuild your career again and see what happens.”

TIF Thoughts on Adam’s comments regarding Celtic moving for Pochettino…

Pochettino is currently without a job and he last managed Tottenham, who he was sacked by back in November 2019.

He has been linked with moves to Manchester United, Juventus and Barcelona over the last few months. Celtic haven’t been linked with a move for the Argentine though.

Pochettino’s Spurs played in the Champions League final in 2019 and they were playing in the competition in the 2019/20 campaign too.

The clubs he has been linked with are playing in the Champions League as well. Celtic, on the other hand, haven’t reached the group stages of the competition since the 2017/18 season.

So, because of the status that other clubs carry, Pochettino might not want to join Celtic as they aren’t regulars in the Champions League.
