In-the-know podcaster @ExWHUemployee has recently lauded the potential of West Ham United’s young midfielder Freddie Potts.

Potts is a 17-year-old middleman that currently plays for the Hammers’ under-18s side (per Transfermarkt).

During the current season, the Englishman has made six appearances in the U18 Premier League in which he has managed to bag one goal.

Most recently, he featured in a 3-2 win against Brighton & Hove Albion and a 2-1 defeat against Crystal Palace.

On West Ham’s website, it is noted that the midfielder has been at the club since he was ‘five or six years old’ and that he is a ‘very impressive central midfielder’.

During the latest episode of The West Ham Way Podcast, @ExWHUemployee heaped praise on the youngster and lauded his potential for the Hammers.

Who did West Ham United face in their opening fixture of the 2020/21 Premier League season?

He said: “Actually, one player that I’ve heard good things about is Steve Potts’ other son Freddie – Freddie Potts. I’ve heard that he’s a really good player.

“Obviously, Dan Potts was also Steve Potts’ son, played a couple of games for us and now plays for Luton.

“Apparently, Freddie is even better. [He’s a] central midfielder, I think. Hopefully, he’ll be the next [big] thing so I like the fact [he’s] Potts’ son.”

TIF Thoughts on what @ExWHUemployee said about Freddie Potts…

As can be seen in what the in-the-know podcaster had to say, he has “heard” that Potts is a “really good player” and he could have a big future with the Irons.

Would you like to see David Moyes promoting more players from the academy?

No, we don't need more

No, we don't need more

Yes, he should promote more

Yes, he should promote more

As noted by @ExWHUemployee, Freddie is the son of former Hammer of the Year and current West Ham under-23s assistant manager Steve Potts (per West Ham).

So, hopefully, for the Irons, the young midfielder can become a player as good as his dad was as he was Hammer of the Year twice during his career.
