A lot of Tottenham Hotspur fans have flocked to a tweet that was recently posted by Spurs-focused Twitter account @LastWordOnSpurs to discuss the possibility that Mauricio Pochettino could become the next manager of Athletic Club.
This comes after Marca recently published an article casting doubt over the future of current Athletic Club manager Gaizka Garitano, with his side sitting in 14th place in Spain’s top flight at present, and while it has not been claimed that they have offered Pochettino the job, this article from Marca discussed the possibility that the Argentine could be targeted by the Basque club should the manager’s position become available.
It is claimed that the challenge of managing Athletic Club ‘would fit into his philosophy,’ while this article also shares some positive comments that the ex-Lilywhites boss made about the La Liga club in the past.
So, what did these Tottenham Hotspur fans make of the idea that Pochettino could join Athletic Club?
?[@Marca] | Athletic Bilbao have offered former Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino a route back into management.
??Pochettino has been out of work since leaving Tottenham in November 2019, where he was sacked by chairman Daniel Levy.#THFC #COYSpic.twitter.com/PoBxUtohOT

Many of the Spurs fans who replied to this post indicated that they would like to see the 48-year-old take the reins at San Mames Stadium.

Do you think Pochettino will join Athletic Club?
YES
NO
So, judging by these Tottenham fans’ replies to this post, it certainly seems as though plenty of the north London club’s supporters think this club would be a good fit for their side’s ex-manager, though some others clearly think that Pochettino’s future lies elsewhere.
