Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to some quotes from Tanguy Ndombele regarding the rumours that were linking him with a move away from the Lilywhites during the recent summer transfer window. 

The French international endured a difficult first season with the north London club, having joined for a club-record fee in the summer of 2019, with fitness issues proving to be a problem throughout the season, and Jose Mourinho was particularly critical of the 23-year-old following his performance against Burnley back in March.

Perhaps as a result, he was heavily linked with a move away ahead of the 2020/21 Premier League season, with Inter and Barcelona amongst those interested in the former Lyon man. However, he has now established himself as a regular in Mourinho’s side this season, having appeared in all seven of Spurs’ Premier League fixtures thus far (per WhoScored).

When asked by Canal, via L’Equipe, about the possibility of him leaving Spurs during the summer, the midfielder replied: “I asked myself the question, but the president said he wanted to keep me. Things are going quite well with the coach this season, each of us has put our egos to one side.” (per Hotspur Related)

Overall, it seems clear that these Spurs fans are delighted that Daniel Levy was able to convince Ndombele to stay at Spurs and they were quick to praise the chairman for his actions.
