Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to a report on former Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen, which suggests that Inter are now willing to sell the Danish international in January.

According to Calcio Mercato (via Last Word On Spurs), the former Ajax man could leave the Serie A side as soon as January, despite joining Antonio Conte’s side less than a year ago from Spurs. In his time with I Nerazzurri, the 28-year-old has gone on to make 33 appearances in all competitions, contributing just four goals and three assists (per Transfermarkt).

It was also suggested that the Lilywhites did enquire about re-signing Eriksen during the summer transfer window and although that never amounted to anything, perhaps we could see him return to the club in January, should he decide that his future lies away from Inter.

A further report from Calcio Mercato claims that ‘tables between Mourinho and the Nerazzurri’ have ‘opened’ – which suggests Spurs may well be interested in bringing the Dane back to north London.

The attacking midfielder enjoyed an extremely fruitful spell with Spurs, contributing an impressive 69 goals and 89 assists in 305 appearances for the club (per Transfermarkt), so perhaps a return to the Premier League would allow him to get back to his best form.
