Spurs fans on Twitter have flocked to a post from Harry Kane following the 2-1 win against Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday night.
The Englishman continued his superb start to the 2020/21 season with another goal in the win, with his penalty in the first half meaning he has now contributed six goals and eight assists in just seven Premier League appearances, which has seen him average an incredible 8.37/10 match rating (per WhoScored).
The 27-year-old picked himself up after being fouled by Adam Lallana to fire a penalty past Robert Sanchez in the Brighton goal, helping the Lilywhites to pick up all three points against Graham Potter’s side, in a result which saw them move up to second in the Premier League table (per BBC Sport).
Following the game, the England captain posted on Twitter saying: ‘Great win. Big battling performances all over the pitch. Congrats @GarethBale11 on the winner.’
The Spurs academy graduate’s goal in the 2-1 win was his 199th for Spurs in all competitions (per Transfermarkt), so he will surely be hoping to reach the 200-goal milestone as soon as possible, and perhaps this season will also finally see the north London club end their long wait for a trophy, with their last honour coming in the form of a League Cup win in 2008 (per Tottenham Hotspur).
Will Kane win the golden boot this season?
