Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to a post-match tweet from Gareth Bale, after he scored the winning goal in the Lilywhites’ 2-1 win against Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday night.
The Welshman came off the bench to head home Sergio Reguilon’s cross in the second half, which earned the North London club all three points and saw them move up to second in the Premier League table (per BBC Sport).
It was the 31-year-old’s first goal for Spurs since May 2013 and it ensured that Jose Mourinho’s side would be just two points off current league leaders Liverpool ahead of their game against West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns on Sunday.
Following the game, the Real Madrid loanee posted on Twitter with his delight at scoring the winner, writing: ‘+3! Great feeling to score and very happy with the win!’
Unsurprisingly, this has caught the attention of a lot of Spurs fans on social media, who were keen to praise the winger following his first goal back with the club.
Should Bale start Spurs' next Premier League game?
