Many Tottenham Hotspur supporters have taken to social media to respond to Toby Alderweireld’s Twitter post after he shared a photograph taken ahead of Belgium’s victory over England in the UEFA Nations League on Sunday.
The 31-year-old started for Roberto Martinez’s side and played the entire 90 minutes for the hosts who kept a clean sheet on the night (as per BBC Sport).
Alderweireld’s individual display, according to WhoScored, earned him a solid performance rating of 6.85/10 meaning he performed to a higher level than any of his England counterparts, including his Spurs teammate Eric Dier.
How have some of the Spurs supporters responded to Toby Alderweireld’s Twitter post?
Well done ?? on the win yesterday. Some great defending kept Harry and the boys out. Should make for lively discussion back at Tottenham

Good game Toby. I was just praying that you and Kane would not munch each other and stay fit for Saturday.

We can assume, based on the above responses that many of these Spurs fans were concerned by the prospect of Alderweireld and Harry Kane going up against one another.
Jose Mourinho’s side take on Manchester City in the Premier League this coming weekend and fortunately for them, it appears both players came through the latest round of international fixtures unscathed.
However, England face Iceland on Wednesday whilst Belgium take on Denmark, so, the Lilywhites faithful still face an anxious wait to learn whether both of the aforementioned players will still be fit and available ahead of the visit of Pep Guardiola’s side.
