Many Tottenham Hotspur supporters have taken to social media to react to Jonathan Veal’s Twitter post in which he shared the news that Gareth Bale, Joe Rodon and Ben Davies have all tested negative for the virus earlier this year, following Wales’ latest fixture with the Republic of Ireland.
The hosts won 1-0 thanks to a goal from David Brooks in the second half with Bale, Rodon and Davies all starting (as per BBC Sport). Jose Mourinho’s side have started their Premier League campaign strongly, winning five of their eight fixtures so far, losing just once on the opening weekend.
As a result of their good form, the Lilywhites currently find themselves in second place ahead of their upcoming fixture with Manchester City, scheduled to take place on Saturday evening.
How have the Spurs supporters reacted to the news all three of their players tested negative for the virus?
None of them are gonna start against City anywayd

That’s nice, lucky it doesn’t take a few days for the virus to incubate ??

Excellent news. International break is a nightmare, having the least amount of unavailable players is a blessing.
Look at Liverpool, for instance. They’ve barely got themselves covered. https://t.co/BkLAEyaaJq

It’s clear from the above responses that whilst some of these Spurs supporters were pleased to learn none of their players had tested positive for the virus, others warned that they were not out of the woods yet given that it can take a few days for it to show up on a test if contracted.
Wales have one more UEFA Nations League fixture versus Finland to come on Wednesday night before the aforementioned players will return to their club and Jose Mourinho and his staff will no doubt be watching on closely, hoping everybody comes back fit and ready to face Pep Guardiola’s side at the weekend.
