Luke Edwards has been speaking on a recent edition of The NUFC Late Show by Gallowgate Shots about all things relating to Newcastle United.

Who will the Toon play in the next round of the Carabao Cup after they beat Newport County on penalties?

One of the topics that featured heavily in the show was the proposed takeover of the Toon by PCP Capital Partners, PIF, and the Reuben brothers that was withdrawn in July.

This led Edwards to comment on the legal action proposed by Newcastle Consortium Supporters Ltd, and it seems as if the Daily Telegraph reporter is unconvinced about this challenge having shown their letter to the Premier League to legal professionals.

He said: “I have taken separate, independent legal advice, I have shown that letter to people and they said exactly what Shell [fellow panellist @RedRoseMichelle] said, they said it’s flimsy at best.

“We are just urging caution; we are not saying it doesn’t mean anything, that it might end up in court, it might be this great legal win. My legal information is that won’t happen.

“The Premier League will just dismiss it; if it goes to court, the Premier League will just say there’s no case to answer, and they’ll give their reasons why.”

Do you think this legal action will go anywhere?

No, nothing will happen

TIF Thoughts on the legal challenge made and Edwards’ view on it…

On the show, Edwards was joined by @RedRoseMichelle, a Newcastle fan, and a solicitor.

Last week, she offered her opinion on the legal challenge submitted to the Premier League over the takeover, and she was not convinced.

It now seems as if Edwards has had the same confirmation, and he does not think that this legal challenge will go anywhere.

However, the challenge does have the support of Mike Ashley.

Also, Mehrdad Ghodoussi and Jamie Reuben, who are part of the consortium, retweeted it, suggesting that they at least support it.

So, it will be intriguing to see if anything happens, but it is clear that Edwards is not convinced about this legal challenge.
