A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a post from Mark Douglas that contains a link to an article with quotes from Miguel Almiron’s agent Daniel Campos on the future of the 26-year-old.
The piece contains a full transcript of an interview Campos took part in on Paraguayan radio station Futgol 970.
In the interview, Campos claimed that if the pandemic had not happened, Almiron would have left Newcastle and that the tactics that Steve Bruce has employed have not helped the midfielder.
He states that if the 26-year-old was played in the correct position, he would have shown that he can do more.
Finally, Campos claimed that Atletico Madrid were interested in signing Almiron and that other clubs in England are looking at him, before claiming that he expects Almiron to leave Tyneside next summer.
This has drawn the attention of these Toon fans, who wouldn’t blame Almiron for leaving.
So, what do these Newcastle fans make of these comments on Almiron?
I mean, he’s a sub now… So don’t blame him

One of the most talented players I’ve seen wear the shirt. Not a surprise is it. Only so much that you can take when you have the ability that he has.

Wish him all the best. Absolutely ruined by Bruce

Best of luck to him. If I could escape Steve Bruce i would too.

Would you be happy to see Almiron leave?
No, he just needs to be used properly
Yes, he isn't good enough
Meanwhile, other Newcastle fans wouldn’t be too bothered to see him go because of his lack of end product.
Good he’s not good enough, ain’t got the prem quality

Massively overrated, everyone blames Bruce for his performances but in reality Bruce is the one keeping the myth of him being good alive. Bruce is giving him an excuse, but there is no excuse for not being able to pass a ball 5 yards.

Apart from the obvious speed, he doesn’t actually do very much. His shooting is awful, I dont think he knows how to head a ball, his passing is sloppy, his dribbling ends in him running into a player… sell him if we can get our money back ?

I always knew this time would come…the only questions was WHEN? #nufc https://t.co/3sedyu1LGm

Ngl, I’d be gutted if Almiron left Newcastle but I wouldn’t blame him one bit.
Sold a dream, the reality sucks. #nufc

Since joining Newcastle for £21.6m in January 2019, Almiron has made 62 appearances for the Toon, scored nine goals and provided five assists.
However, when he was at Atlanta United, he scored 20 goals and provided 17 assists from a central attacking-midfield role.
According to Transfermarkt, since he moved to Tyneside, he has only played there on 16 occasions, which could be why his agent thinks he has been played out of position.
These are some pretty big claims from Campos, and it seems like Almiron won’t be a Newcastle player for much longer if what he had to say is true.
So, we will just have to see what happens, but judging by these responses, some Toon fans wouldn’t be that disappointed to see Almiron leave.
