A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a post from Chris Waugh that discusses the Toon’s display against Southampton.
In the post, he discussed Steve Bruce’s comments about the Toon’s inconsistency following the match at St. Mary’s on how they play well in one game and then dreadfully in the next.
This, to Waugh, leaves him ‘dumbfounded,’ and it has drawn the attention of many Newcastle fans, who feel that it is the manager’s fault.
So, what did these Newcastle fans think of Waugh’s tweet?
I can’t say it leaves me dumbfounded, but more of the case of expected.
Doesn’t Bruce give them a few days off after a win? Might have something to do with it.

Totally dependant on how the opposition perform. If they have off day we can scrape a lucky win. Of they play how a good manager sets them up we look hopeless out of our depth. Bruce has no style of play other than defend and hope for a lucky break

That’s the sign of a bad manager! No consistency and the wins we get are against all the odds and 100% players! Manager is useless! 100 million pounds of attacking talent and we got half of em playing defense in our back 8 we line up in!

When the best they can do is “decent” it shouldn’t be surprising how often it’s garbage.

Are you surprised by these performances?
No, the manager has no idea what he is doing
Yes, we should be doing better
Newcastle beat Everton in their previous Premier League game before they played the Saints and limited the Toffees to only four shots on target, though they managed four shots on target themselves.
However, they followed up that match with a shocking display on the south coast where they conceded two goals, but considering they allowed eight shots on target, it could have been so much more.
In attack, the Toon offered little with just two shots on target.
This post from Waugh continued to draw in many Toon fans who had their say.
It’s the result of combining talented individuals with a coach with no idea how to formulate or construct a long-term plan. He just doesn’t have it in him. No clue. This is the way things will be until Ashley stops making stupid decisions or sells the Club.

Bruce ain’t got a clue. Even Lewis plays backwards 9 times out of 10 now. He was suppose to be an attacking threat yet he plays with the handbrakes on. Almiron should not be so deep to give away that goal. Bruce and his staff need to look at themselves first. Shocking.

There’s simply no excuse for that last night. It shows lack of preparation, lack of technical planning, lack of leadership and motivation, lack of game management, lack of defensive and offensive tactics… the fans deserve far better.

That’s what happens when players are poorly coached. Why does no one pull him up on this?

This season, Newcastle have lost every league game after they have won one, meaning they have struggled to build any momentum.
In fact, if you look at Bruce’s record over the course of his time as the Toon’s boss, you will see that Newcastle have never managed to win more than two games back-to-back in the Premier League.
So, you can see the problems with inconsistency, and it is clear that many Newcastle fans think it is Bruce’s fault.
