Image for Leeds United: Fans react to image of Patrick Bamford’s disallowed goal

Fans of Leeds United have been reacting to a post on Twitter, in which the club’s majority owner Andrea Radrizzani highlighted a controversial offside decision given against Leeds at Crystal Palace on Sunday.

In his post, Radrizzani quote-tweets an image which appears to show Patrick Bamford’s arm in a marginally offside position against Crystal Palace, during a passage of play which saw the striker find the back of the net for Leeds, only for VAR to rule the goal out.

Radrizzani’s comment on the image is nothing more than an emoji of a man shrugging, which could be interpreted to mean that he is at a loss as to why Bamford was judged to be in an offside position.

Starting with an easy one what shirt number does Bamford wear for Leeds United?

While Palace went on to win the fixture 4-1, Bamford’s disallowed goal came when the match was only 1-0 in the advantage of Roy Hodgson’s side, and, if it had stood, as well as Bamford going on to score his next chance in the match as he did, it could be argued that the complexion of the game would have changed entirely.

Do you think Bamford's goal should have stood?

It would appear that these Leeds fans feel extremely hard done by regarding the decision, as many more took to Twitter to air their frustration about VAR’s decision to rule out the strike.

All in all, it would appear the vast majority of these Leeds fans are furious with the call to rule Bamford’s goal out for offside, and, we have to say, it is questionable what advantage the striker gained by part of his arm allegedly being in an offside position, particularly as all of the parts of his body that he could legally score a goal with appeared to be in an onside position.
