Many Leeds United supporters have flocked to social media in order to react to a tweet from The Athletic’s Phil Hay on Twitter in which he shared a screenshot of Pablo Hernandez’s recent Instagram post.
The 35-year-old took to the platform to apologise for his ‘gesture’ after he was substituted by Marcelo Bielsa on 67 minutes during the clash with Leicester City and replaced by Tyler Roberts (as per BBC Sport).
When leaving the field, the Spaniard was seen to throw his black armband into the stands and kick a bottle that was situated on the side of the pitch (as per The Athletic).
How have these Leeds United fans reacted to Pablo Hernandez’s public apology?
Lots of people on here saying he was having little impact V Leicester.
That’s probably true to some degree, but I’d rather have a knackered Pablo Hernandez who’s capable of one moment of game winning brilliance, than a fresh Tyler Roberts, who rarely offers anything— Anonymous Leeds Fan ? (@anonymousL33ds) November 8, 2020
I’ve always said where pride meets passion. His being subbed hurt his pride and he showed his passion.

Without Pablo we would arguably be stuck in the championship

He’s apologised so that should be the end of it. Pablo has built up more than enough credit in the bank over the last 4 years and it takes a good person to admit when they have made a mistake. Hope he’s in the squad for our next match.

Actually annoys me that he has had to apologise I’d be more concerned if he meekly accepted being taken off nothing wrong with having + showing that passion

Bielsa won’t put up with petulance

Were you disappointed by Pablo Hernandez's reaction to being substituted last week?
Yes
No
It’s clear that these supporters believe the Instagram post has been the cure for the former Valencia man for his reaction to being withdrawn by his boss as they have forgiven him.
He’s made just four appearances in the Premier League this season but last season, he played a key part in the Whites’ promotion push, contributing nine goals and nine assists in 36 Championship appearances, therefore, you can understand why some, in their replies, have referenced what in their view, they believe to be his importance to the team.
