Speaking recently on the Glenn Hoddle Footy Show, the titular former Tottenham Hotspur player discussed Christian Eriksen’s woes at Inter, stating his belief that the move to Italy has ‘jolted him’.

Since moving from Spurs to Inter in what was a £24.3 million deal back in January, Eriksen has gone on to feature 33 times for I Nerazzurri, scoring four goals and providing three assists along the way.

How well can you remember Spurs' season so far? 1. Who is Spurs' top scorer in all competitions so far this season?

However, so far this season, the £45 million-rated 28-year-old has started just three games in Serie A, with a further two appearances coming from the bench, over which the midfielder has scored no goals and provided no assists, and has averaged a WhoScored match rating of 6.36 – ranking him as the club’s sixth-worst player in the Italian top flight.

The Dane was one subject of discussion on a recent episode of the Glenn Hoddle Footy Show, in which Hoddle claimed that Eriksen may have to look for a move away from the Serie A side.

He said: “He hasn’t settled. I think it took him quite a while to settle in Tottenham, you know, he didn’t hit the road running straight away, it took him a couple of seasons to really feel at home and to get himself equipped to the English game.

“I think he’s struggling a little bit, he’s in that limbo period. He looks a different player when he puts a national shirt on for Denmark. I think that move to Italy was going to be something he felt was going to expand him as a player and, actually, it’s jolted him and he’s stopping still, and maybe he’s going to have to seek another club.”

TIF Thoughts on Glenn Hoddle’s comments regarding Christian Eriksen…

From Hoddle’s comments, it is clear that he feels Eriksen’s move to Italy has not panned out the way the midfielder thought it would prior to his move to Inter, and that he should consider finding a new club.

However, considering the fact that it has been reported that Antonio Conte is planning on transfer-listing the 28-year-old ahead of the January transfer window – with Spurs even being touted as a potential destination in recent weeks – it would appear that this decision could well have been taken away from Eriksen.
