Many Celtic fans have been talking about the latest update involving Olivier Ntcham that recently emerged on social media.

According to RMC Sport’s Loic Tanzi (via The Scottish Sun), Celtic had rejected two bids for Ntcham on transfer deadline day. Ligue 1 sides Brest and Bordeaux had made loan offers for the midfielder but Celtic chiefs felt that the bids were too low.

Ntcham was linked with a move to Premier League clubs like Southampton, West Ham United and Everton earlier this summer. West Bromwich Albion were also reportedly looking to sign him, while other European sides such as Porto and Lyon also drew links with the midfielder.

Sky Sports had reported that Ntcham’s representatives had asked Celtic for information about their valuation of the former Manchester City youth player. A couple of other Celtic fans also talked about the update involving the midfielder.

There is clearly a mixed reaction to this update and while some Celtic fans don’t seem to like Ntcham as a player, others feel that it was important for the Hoops to keep hold of him.

Ntcham, who is valued at £3.6 million (as per Transfermarkt), has made nine appearances in the league this season and has racked up a rating of just 6.55/10. Only six players have picked up lesser ratings than him in the Premiership for Celtic and it shows that he’s had a rather underwhelming start to the campaign.

Having said that, letting him leave on deadline day might not have left Celtic with enough time on their hands to bring in a potential replacement. So the club’s decision to reject the two offers for Ntcham makes a lot of sense.
