Many Celtic fans have been talking about a news update involving Odsonne Edouard that recently emerged on social media.

Edouard was recently talking to Telefoot in an interview (via the Daily Record) and he spoke about his future at Celtic. The Frenchman said that while he has been at Parkhead for three years now, he will think about leaving the club when the time comes and he’ll look for a ‘higher league’ as well.

He also said that he doesn’t know what the future holds for him but as things stand, he is focused on the club’s current season.

A tweet about these comments was relayed on Twitter by the Daily Record and it caught the attention of many Celtic fans.

What did Celtic fans make of Odsonne Edouard’s comments about his future?

Will Edouard leave Celtic in the summer of 2021?

Edouard had missed the Old Firm derby recently because he had tested positive for the virus and hadn’t played in the club’s games against Milan and Aberdeen either as a result (as per Transfermarkt).

In the current campaign, he has made 10 appearances in all competitions for the Bhoys and scored six goals. In the Premiership, he has scored four goals in seven outings. He was linked with a move to the Premier League in the summer transfer window.

Some other Celtic fans were also mocking the Daily Record for the tweet and they believe that they are making a story out of nothing.

These Celtic fans don’t believe that there is anything too remarkable about Edouard’s comments and one fan believes that this is Edouard’s last season at Parkhead anyway.

He was the club’s Player of the Year last season and finished as the highest scorer in the Premiership in the 2019/20 campaign as well. In his absence, the Hoops have now failed to win a single game in their last three outings in all competitions and that might be an indication of how important a player he is for Neil Lennon’s men.

Celtic fans can only hope that the Frenchman returns to action soon and he helps them turn things around to potentially guide them towards winning a tenth Premiership title in a row this season.
