Many Celtic fans have been fuming at the latest comments from Charlie Nicholas that recently emerged on social media.

Earlier this month, Nicholas had criticised the business that Celtic had done in the summer transfer window. Neil Lennon had then hit back at Nicholas, saying that he has been ‘negative’ about the Hoops for many years now.

Nicholas has now responded to Lennon in his latest column for the Daily Express (via the Daily Record), saying that he will make no apologies about being negative regarding Celtic’s business in the transfer window and that the new signings haven’t made the club’s current first team better. He believes that he isn’t a ‘social media sheep’.

Which of the following clubs has Shane Duffy never played for?

A tweet about this was relayed on social media by the Daily Record. It caught the attention of many Celtic fans and they were fuming at what Nicholas had to say.

Is Charlie Nicholas always negative about Celtic?

In the summer transfer window, the Hoops signed three players on loan – Shane Duffy, Mohamed Elyounoussi and Diego Laxalt – while David Turnbull, Vasilis Barkas and Albian Ajeti all arrived on permanent deals (as per Transfermarkt).

Some other Celtic fans were also fuming at what Nicholas has had to say in response to Lennon’s criticism.

These Celtic fans clearly don’t have a liking for Nicholas. Apart from having signed the aforementioned players, the Hoops have managed to keep Odsonne Edouard, Kristoffer Ajer and Olivier Ntcham at the club.

By bringing new players in and keeping the current players, they have increased the depth at Parkhead. That depth might come in handy if they want to challenge on multiple fronts. So Celtic fans can only hope that their club wins the title once again and they prove Nicholas wrong on the pitch.
