Supporters of Celtic have recently flocked to a social media post that was shared on Twitter by FC Midtjylland captain Erik Sviatchenko.

On Tuesday night, goals from Diogo Jota and Mohamed Salah were enough for Liverpool to defeat the Danish side 2-0 at Anfield (per BBC).

Following the match, Sviatchenko posted to Twitter and quote-tweeted a post that had been shared by Midtjylland, stating: ‘We gave it all!’

The 29-year-old centre-back is formerly of Celtic, having signed for the club from Midtjylland in 2016 and returned to the Danish outfit in January 2018 before the move became permanent in the summer of that year (per Transfermarkt).

Due to his affiliation with the Hoops, lots of the Celtic Park faithful flocked to the social media post.
