Celtic pundit Kevin Graham has recently slammed the club’s first-half performance against Aberdeen in the Premiership.

Graham was a guest on the latest episode of the ‘A Celtic State of Mind’ podcast and the panel discussed multiple issues involving the Bhoys following their 3-3 draw against Aberdeen at Pittodrie. Graham gave his opinion about the club’s performance in the first half. He believes that the Hoops were ‘terrible’ in the first half and they lacked everything one would want in a football team.

The Bhoys were 1-0 down against Aberdeen in the first half on Sunday as Lewis Ferguson had scored a penalty. While they did manage to pick up one point because of the 3-3 draw, Celtic picked up a lesser rating than the opposition in the game (as per WhoScored).

Graham has slammed the team’s performance in the first half and he made his feelings very clear about it.

He said: “Some of the players stood up and were counted. Did we have enough though? Did we see enough to actually say, ‘that’s going to continue over the course of the season’? We didn’t, because the first half was awful. The first half was absolutely terrible. The first half was just as bad as the previous week’s performance.

“There was nothing. We were flat. We lacked personality. We lacked emotion. We lacked everything that you would want in a football team.”

TIF Thoughts on Graham’s comments on Celtic’s first-half performance against Aberdeen…

The fact that the Hoops were 1-0 down in the first half might be a reflection of the fact that their performance in the first 45 minutes wasn’t too impressive. BBC Sport state that the Hoops had a lot of possession in the first half but despite that, they failed to create chances.

Because of all that, it is understandable why Graham is pretty disappointed about how the Hoops played in the first 45 minutes and maybe, their inability to create chances in that period played a role in their failure to win the game. Fans can only hope that the Bhoys put the result behind them and start to pick up some wins in the Premiership soon.
