In-the-know podcaster @ExWHUemployee has recently discussed the latest regarding a possible takeover of West Ham United.

During September, it was initially reported by The Sun that David Gold and David Sullivan had rejected a £350m offer from a US-based consortium to purchase the Hammers.

Just days later, it was claimed that a second offer from the same group, which had been upped to £400m, had again been rejected by the club’s current ownership.

In the second report by The Sun, it was claimed that David Sullivan’s valuation of the Irons was ‘far higher‘ than what had been put on the table by the ‘mysterious‘ consortium.

However, there has been nothing reported further on the two supposed offers from the US-based consortium.

In the latest episode of The West Ham Way Podcast, @ExWHUemployee offered an update on any possible takeover rumours surrounding the London Stadium outfit.

Who did West Ham United face in their opening fixture of the 2020/21 Premier League season?

He said: “I don’t for one second dispute that there are people out there that would be interested in buying the club, however, this is not new. This is something that I’ve said prior to all of [the recent takeover rumours].

“There are all these groups on Twitter that say, ‘I know that this is definitely happening,’ I’d say about 40 people [say that].

“Yet, if you ask the chairman, you ask anyone in the club, you ask anyone in these companies – I know that CAA, for example, had email exchanges with David Sullivan about a price – but you ask them, and they’ll tell you they haven’t put an official offer in.

“The timeline of it, [people on forums are] saying a deal’s going to be completed by the end of the year, it’s October now.

“Is it going to be completed by the end of December? Two months to turn the club around in that time, I very much doubt that that would be able to even possibly happen.

“I think people have had email exchanges of offers, but I don’t believe there’s been a proof of funds. You have to prove you’ve got the funds to buy the club. As far as I’m aware, that hasn’t happened.

“So, I just think you just have to take this information with a pinch of salt.”

Do you think there is a takeover of West Ham close?

TIF Thoughts…

As can be seen in what @ExWHUemployee had to say, he seems to believe that there will be no takeover from any rumoured party before the end of the year.

He also believes that there has been no proof of funds from anyone who has been rumoured to be interested in purchasing the club.

So, seemingly, West Ham supporters who would like to see the Irons taken over will just have to bide their time and see if any rumour develops further.
