Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to some quotes from Jose Mourinho regarding Dele Alli ahead of the Lilywhites’ game against Maccabi Haifa in the Europa League on Thursday night.
The Portuguese manager spoke to the press before the game and answered a question about the former MK Dons man and whether he would feature against the Israeli side, saying:
“I cannot confirm if he’s playing or not tomorrow. The only thing I can say is that he is being very professional. Even yesterday when not in the squad he trained very hard and he has the respect of his team-mates and me.” (per Alasdair Gold)
The 24-year-old has been dropped in recent games, which has perhaps led to speculation about his future with the North London club, with Ligue 1 side PSG reportedly interested in signing the Englishman on loan before the transfer window shuts next week.
The midfielder has made just one appearance in the Premier League so far this season, where he was substituted at half-time in the 1-0 defeat against Everton (per BBC), which suggests that he certainly isn’t a key part of Mourinho’s first-team plans at the moment.
Do you think Alli will stay with Spurs?

Whilst some Spurs fans seem to suggest that Alli’s time at Spurs is running out, other Lilywhites supporters urged Mourinho to work with him to try and get him back to his best.
Work him Jose, no more special treatment. We need the best Dele on the pitch.

Overall, it seems as if the Spurs fanbase is split when it comes to Alli’s future with the club, although you would imagine that the majority will want to see him rediscover the sort of form he showed in his first few seasons with the club.
