Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to a tweet from Evening Standard journalist Jonathan Veal, which suggests that Tottenham now have more fans in South Korea than in the UK.
The journalist suggested on Twitter that recent research has shown that the north London club may have more supporters in South Korea than in the UK, with as many as 11 million people in the Asian country between the ages of 16-69 suggesting that they support the Lilywhites. The journalist, perhaps jokingly, said he couldn’t think why that would be the case, whilst also posting four images of Spurs and South Korea star Heung-Min Son.
The 28-year-old truly is a superstar in his home country and is perhaps loved by Spurs fans just as much, as since joining from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015, the winger has gone on to make 235 appearances for the North London club, contributing an impressive 92 goals and 50 assists (per Transfermarkt). He has also started this season in electric form, having registered six goals and one assist in just four Premier League appearances, which has seen him average a superb 8.43 rating (per WhoScored).
Are you happy Son is bringing so many South Korean supporters to Spurs?

Mad numbers. Should give him a new contract at par with Kane for his exceptional performances and consistency. Love him

Sonny is a brilliant player. We’re lucky to have him, and I love that the Spurs fan base in Korea is so strong that they want to come to games. A real fan flies thousands of km to see their team? That’s inspiring! How much more a real fan could you be than that? #COYS
