On the latest video for his YouTube channel, Chris Cowlin welcomed Jamie Brown from Daily Hotspur to preview Tottenham Hotspur’s game against West Ham United on Sunday afternoon.

One topic of discussion during the video was the form of both Heung-min Son and Harry Kane so far this season. The South Korean has started the 2020/21 season in superb form, having contributed six goals and one assist in just four games in the Premier League, which has seen him average an incredible 8.43/10 rating (per WhoScored).

How well can you remember the last few weeks of Spurs action? 1. Which played scored a hattrick against Maccabi Haifa?

The England captain, meanwhile, has three goals and six assists in four appearances in the top flight, averaging an 8.31 rating, whilst he also has five goals in three Europa League games (per WhoScored).

Here’s what Brown had to say about the duo’s form during the video, and why he thinks it is such a big factor behind the Lilywhites’ strong start to the season:

“I think the big thing for Spurs at the moment has been the form of Son and Kane. I think together, they’ve been absolutely outstanding. Together, for me, right at this moment in time, they are the best partnership in the world at the moment. The way they have combined is incredible. I think both players have matured a lot, even this season.

“You look at the way that Kane is able to drop deep and dictate play and the way that he can pick out Son. They just really seem to have a really strong connection now, that’s why they have combined for so many goals and that has really been a big factor for us this year – the way those two combine, the form they’ve been in.

“Long term, if we can keep those two fit, and then you’ve got [Gareth] Bale to add to that, that will be huge, because you’ve potentially got the best front three in the league. Those two in such good form, I think that’s really been the big difference for Spurs.”

TIF Thoughts…

Brown is clearly excited by the form of Kane and Son and feels that once Gareth Bale makes his return to action – with the Welshman expected to make his second debut for the club against West Ham this weekend – the Lilywhites could have the best front three in the league.

Do Spurs have the best front three in the league in Bale, Son and Kane?

Yes

No

No

Considering that in the 5-2 win against Southampton, Kane assisted every single one of Son’s four goals, it is clear that they have a strong connection and are often on the same wavelength, which can prove to be devastating at times, so hopefully, they can continue this electric start to the season throughout the 2020/21 campaign.
