Many Tottenham Hotspur supporters have flocked to social media in order to react to a tweet from @TalkingTHFC in which they relayed a report from The Telegraph which claims Gedson Fernandes could miss out on being named in the club’s UEFA Europa League squad.
The club will name their squad for the competition on Tuesday and with the boss only able to name 17 non-homegrown players, the Portuguese midfielder could miss out. The player is currently on loan at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium but the Lilywhites do have an option to buy the player at the end of that loan spell should they wish to do so (as per Transfermarkt).
Following the news that he could miss out, here is how a sample of the club’s faithful have responded.
Don’t know how he fits into that team tbh, going to be so hard to get game time.

Just cut our losses and send him back if we can, it’s not worked out for him or us

not even sure why we got him if he’s barely given a chance

Have you been disappointed with Gedson Fernandes since he arrived?
Yes
No
This is just depressing

Not a surprise at all, he has been very poor

He’s a decent player, he just needs game time and if we aren’t going to give it to him then we might aswell have sent him back

He’s kinda like Sissoko, but less physical and can pass. Still young too, should see some league and domestic cup games.

Since arriving in north London, the player has appeared for the club on just 13 occasions (as per Transfermarkt) and therefore, you can understand why he is allegedly one of the players Jose Mourinho is considering leaving out. It’s clear from the above responses, that many supporters feel the £12.15m-rated midfielder should be returned to his parent club seeing as he is clearly out of favour at Spurs.
