A lot of Tottenham Hotspur fans have flocked to a tweet that was recently posted by Spurs news Twitter account @HotspurRelated which relays the news that the Lilywhites allegedly ‘made a formal bid’ for Lyon striker Moussa Dembele before completing their loan signing of Carlos Vinicius.
This claim recently surfaced via Get French Football News, who published a report explaining that the north London club submitted this bid for the 24-year-old centre forward ‘at the beginning of last week.’
The former Fulham and Celtic forward is said to have been ‘keen to make the move’ to Spurs, which was allegedly going to be ‘a loan with obligation to buy arrangement,’ however, Lyon boss Rudi Garcia prevented the transfer from happening, which Spurs are said to have been frustrated by.
After this reported news was shared by @HotspurRelated on Twitter, plenty of Spurs supporters flocked to their tweet to react to this claim.

Meanwhile, some Spurs supporters replied to this tweet to share that they believe their club should have signed Dembele in the past.

Would Dembele have been a better signing than Vinicius?
YES
NO
So, judging by these Tottenham fans’ replies to this tweet, it seems as though £36m-rated Dembele would have been a popular signing amongst Lilywhites supporters.
Hopefully, for these Spurs fans, Vinicius, who did join the club on loan with an option for Tottenham to buy the player ‘for around £36m’ when his loan ends, performs well and makes up for their failure to secure Dembele’s signature.
