A lot of Tottenham Hotspur fans have flocked to a tweet that was recently posted by the club’s official Twitter account in which they relayed the news that 21-year-old centre-forward Kazaiah Sterling has joined League Two side Southend United on loan until January.

Sterling is a product of Spurs’ youth academy, however, the 21-year-old has made just two appearances for Tottenham’s senior squad thus far in his career, with the forward accumulating a combined total of just 11 minutes of playing time in those two games.

This won’t be Sterling’s first loan spell away from the north London club. He spent from the end of January 2019 until the end of May 2019 on loan at Sunderland, where he scored one goal in eight appearances. He then went on to score one goal and provide one assist in four appearances for Doncaster Rovers, where he was on loan from 16th August 2019 until 1st January 2020 and earlier this year, he was on loan at Leyton Orient from the end of January until the end of May, though he didn’t play during that loan spell.

After Spurs shared that the 21-year-old forward has now joined Southend on loan, this tweet caught plenty of Tottenham supporters’ attention.

Some Spurs fans shared that they weren’t aware Sterling still played for them, while some other Tottenham fans called for the player to be sold on a permanent deal.

Meanwhile, some other Tottenham fans wished the 21-year-old luck with this loan spell.

Could Sterling still become a first-team player for Spurs?

So, judging by these replies to this tweet, some Tottenham supporters are seemingly hoping to see the 21-year-old do well at Southend, though some Spurs fans don’t seem to have much interest in seeing Sterling in Spurs colours again.

Hopefully, for all involved, Southend proves to be a good fit for Sterling and he can enjoy a better spell there than he has enjoyed at any of the other clubs where he’s recently spent time out on loan.
