In the latest video for his YouTube channel, Football.london reporter Alasdair Gold has been discussing the latest goings-on at Tottenham Hotspur, with a focus on Spurs’ business in the transfer window and Jose Mourinho’s squad ahead of their next fixture against West Ham United

During the video, the journalist suggested that, although the international transfer window has now closed, we could still see some Spurs players leave the club before the domestic window shuts on 16 October. So far, we have seen just Kyle Walker-Peters depart Spurs for a fee, whilst Jan Vertonghen and Michel Vorm left on free transfers. The likes of Oliver Skipp, Juan Foyth and Ryan Sessegnon also left on loan deals (per Transfermarkt).

How well can you remember the last week of Spurs action? 1. Who scored Spurs' first goal in the win against KF Shkendija?

Gold certainly seems to feel that that number could increase between now and 16 October, saying:

“Mourinho wanted a balanced squad, I still think there [are] a couple more departures to come, but that is definitely a much more balanced squad. He can now go into matches and have options in every single position – you couldn’t say that last season at all.”

TIF Thoughts…

It is no surprise to hear that Gold feels there could be a couple more departures before the domestic transfer window shuts. For example, Paulo Gazzaniga has been left out of the Europa League squad and was linked with a move to Fulham earlier in the transfer window, so perhaps we could see the Argentinian depart in the near future.

Are you hoping to see some departures from Spurs in the next week or so?

No

Danny Rose is reportedly training with the academy side and wasn’t given a squad number for this season, so it seems clear that he is not part of Mourinho’s plans, and he could potentially depart if Spurs can agree a deal with another domestic side. The same can be said of Cameron Carter-Vickers, who also wasn’t given a squad number, and the USA international has been attracting interest from several Championship sides.

It will be interesting to see which players, if any, depart Spurs in the next week or so, but from what Gold suggests, Spurs fans can certainly expect a couple of departures.
