Alasdair Gold discussed all things Tottenham Hotspur on the most recent video that has been posted to his YouTube channel, in which he shed some light on Danny Rose’s future.

Since Jose Mourinho became Spurs boss last November, Rose has featured just five times for the Lilywhites in all competitions and the £14.4m-rated left-back has been linked with a move away from the north London club during the current transfer window, with Mourinho declaring that he would be “happy” for the 30-year-old to leave Tottenham.

How well can you remember the last week of Spurs action? 1. Who scored Spurs' first goal in the win against KF Shkendija?

However, as of now, the player is yet to depart from the Lilywhites and during this recent YouTube video, Gold discussed the latest with regard to the player’s potential departure from Spurs.

He said: “Danny Rose would be another that, obviously, will be looking to get out the door but I understand there’s not massive interest in him right now.

“There’s the Genoa stuff, there’s people kind of making little enquiries, but nothing really serious right now about Danny Rose.

“Anyone that needs a left-back will look at him. I’ll be intrigued to see, if nobody does, whether his standards would drop slightly and actually, in the EFL window, whether he’d then consider heading out to a Championship club – we know Bournemouth wanted him last year.

“He is, as you can see, not playing any part in the first-team squad, I don’t think he’s even training with them, I think he’s with the development squad right now – well, that was a little while ago, I don’t know entirely whether he may even just be training alone right now.

“It’s sad to see, of course it is, he’s given a lot of years to Tottenham – but it very much is just a player who it’s best for all parties if he moves on.”

Do you think that Spurs will find a buyer for Rose?

TIF Thoughts…

So, as can be seen in what Gold had to say, it seems that while Tottenham would like to get a deal done for Rose to leave the club, they are seemingly finding it difficult to move him on at present.

As deadline day unfolds, it will be interesting to see if there is any movement on a potential transfer for Rose.

If there isn’t, perhaps the player will need to lower his standards, as Gold suggested, in order to secure a move to an EFL club in the domestic-only transfer window that will be open until 16th October.

Considering that the player doesn’t seem to be in Tottenham’s plans at present and knowing that his contract is set to expire in June 2021, the Lilywhites will surely do what they can to strike a deal for Rose in order to avoid getting closer to losing him on a free transfer next year.
