Lee Wilmot and Alasdair Gold discussed all of the latest Tottenham Hotspur news on a recent Periscope live stream and during this live stream, they spent some time talking about Danny Rose’s future.

It may be fair to say that the 30-year-old left-back hasn’t been a key part of the Tottenham squad since Jose Mourinho became Spurs manager last November. Under Mourinho, Rose has made just five appearances for Tottenham, the most recent of which came on 11th January in a 1-0 loss to Liverpool.

The £14.4m-rated player was linked with a move away from Spurs recently but Rose remains a Tottenham player following Monday’s transfer deadline.

On the topic of Rose and his future, here is what Gold had to say during this recent Periscope live stream: ”I do wonder whether we might see him just mutually agree to cancel his contract, a bit like what’s happened with Jack Wilshere, because there’s no benefit for Danny Rose just sitting there doing nothing.

“I know he’s made this stand about it in the past, but it doesn’t serve his career any good whatsoever. In those months, you get out of shape, you make it difficult for another club to take you and I just think for Spurs he’s not going to play any part.”

TIF Thoughts…

So, judging by what Gold had to say, it seems as though he is convinced that Rose, who is still under contract with Spurs until the end of June 2021, has not got much of a chance of reviving his Tottenham career and the journalist seemingly thinks that the player would be better off cancelling his contract than staying at the North London club and not playing.

Spurs have still got until 16th October to do business with EFL clubs, so if Rose would be willing to move to a club in a lower division, then perhaps a transfer for the player will be done in the remainder of the domestic transfer window.
