Fans of Tottenham Hotspur have been reacting to a post on Twitter, in which Alastair Gold shared an article concerning Tanguy Ndombele’s performance against West Ham United.
In his article for Football.london, Gold praised the £36 million-rated 23-year-old’s performance against West Ham, stating that the opposition ‘could barely get the ball off him’, and that, if a West Ham player did manage to dispossess the midfielder, it was ‘often because they had fouled him’.
The journalist also went on to state his belief that Ndombele’s 73rd-minute substitution for Harry Winks, after which Spurs went on to concede three goals, was ‘not the wrong decision’, although Gold admitted that Winks’ introduction perhaps should have been at the expense of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg or Moussa Sissoko, who had, according to the journalist, ‘both started to wane in the second half’.
So, what did these Tottenham fans have to say in reaction to Alasdair Gold’s tweet regarding Ndombele?
Im sorry thats a ridiculous opinion. Winks was absolutely abysmal when he came on the pitch. He did nothing right and commited the cardinal sin in football. West Hams MOTM, really. One of our own but honestly has never really been good enough.

Taking Tanguy off for Winks cost us the game end of story a massive clanger from Mourinho

Taking him off the pitch cost the game. Simple as that. Without Ndombele or GLC, Spurs have no midfield. Alasdair, make sure Jose follow the simple rule: ALWAYS have one of Tanguy or GLC on the pitch. If he follows this simple rule, Spurs will have a good season.

From their comments, it would seem that some of these Spurs fans do not necessarily agree with Gold’s opinion regarding the substitution of Ndombele, despite the fact the journalist does go on to clarify that Winks’ introduction in the match perhaps should not have been in place of the Frenchman.
Do you blame Mourinho for Tottenham's capitulation against West Ham?
Yes
No
And, many more fans of Spurs flocked to have their say on the matter, with a great deal of them appearing furious at Jose Mourinho’s decision to take Ndombele off.
The moment he left the pitch, the game changed. It was *the* key moment for me. He had been brilliant up until then, and I just couldn’t understand why he took him off. It’s a shame Lo Celso wasn’t on the bench, as I feel he would maybe have been more effective.

All in all, it would seem these Spurs fans are livid at the fact Mourinho decided to substitute Ndombele, with many appearing to be of the belief that the withdrawal of the Frenchman cost Tottenham all three points in the match.
