Tottenham Hotspur journalist Alasdair Gold has been sharing his thoughts on Lilywhites midfielder Oliver Skipp and his future at the north London club.

This comes after Gold recently uploaded a video onto his YouTube channel where he spoke about a number of topics concerning Jose Mourinho’s side.

How well can you remember the last few weeks of Spurs action? 1. Which played scored a hattrick against Maccabi Haifa?

On the topic of Skipp, who is currently on a season-long loan deal at Championship side Norwich City, Gold had this to say on the 20-year-old.

He said: “When I said about a replacement for [Pierre-Emile] Hojbjerg [earlier in the video], I think it’s going to be Oliver Skipp in the future.

“Oliver Skipp is smashing it at Norwich, they’re so happy with him, the fans and the staff [have] absolutely really taken to him.

“His performances have been superb and I think, I get an inkling that Mourinho is going to groom him to be the essentially other Hojbjerg when he comes back.

“He’s already said [that] he sees him as a future captain and I think that role would suit him very well.”

After working his way through the youth system at Spurs, Skipp made his senior debut for the club back in October 2018 during Tottenham’s 3-1 win over West Ham United in the Carabao Cup.

Overall, the midfielder has made 23 appearances for Spurs’ senior side in which he has managed to grab himself two assists.

So far this season, Skipp has made seven appearances for Norwich in the Championship in which he has earned himself an average rating of 6.81/10 for his performances (per WhoScored).

TIF Thoughts on Alasdair Gold’s comments on Skipp…

As Gold mentioned in his video, Mourinho previously claimed that Skipp can go on to be a future captain at the club, which is great praise for the midfield man.

Hopefully, Skipp can have a successful time during his loan deal at Norwich and then come back to Spurs at the end of the season with some useful experience under his belt.
