The report also claims that Saint-Maximin feels that he deserves a contract that reflects his worth to the Magpies, who are now looking to meet his demands.

Saint-Maximin had done well for Newcastle in the 2019/20 season. In the Premier League, he made 26 appearances for the club and had directly contributed to seven goals for them, picking up a rating of 7.29. In the current league season, he has contributed to two goals in three games while picking up a rating of 7.03 (as per Whoscored).

Many other Newcastle fans also believe that he is going to sign a new contract so that the club can sell him on for a higher fee in the future.

In the current campaign, Saint-Maximin has picked up the second-highest rating for Newcastle in the Premier League. It shows how important he is for the club.

If he indeed is signing a new contract, Newcastle fans should be happy as he’ll either stay for a longer period of time or the club might get a big fee from a potential sale in the future. So in that sense, Saint-Maximin signing a new deal will help Newcastle a lot.
