Many Newcastle United supporters have flocked to social media in order to respond to a Twitter post from Scott Wilson of the Northern Echo regarding Jamal Lewis.
The 22-year-old has not travelled with Northern Ireland to Oslo for their UEFA Nations League clash with Norway and instead will have a scan on an ‘Achilles niggle‘. The Magpies paid £14.85m in order to sign the left-back from Norwich City last month (as per Transfermarkt) but they could now be without him for their upcoming fixture with Manchester United in the Premier League.

It’s clear from the above responses that many of these Newcastle United supporters are frustrated by the fact they may be without Lewis for a period of time following the international break. The defender has made four appearances in the Premier League for Steve Bruce’s side to date and according to WhoScored, his average performance rating is 6.2/10, therefore, it may be understandable as to why one fan believes he has been unimpressive since his arrival.
Whatever your view on how the player has performed since joining from Norwich, in our view, to have your squad depleted following an international break ahead of a key fixture must be extremely frustrating.
