Fans of Newcastle United have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays the news that the club are preparing a new deal for centre-forward, Dwight Gayle.
The Chronicle’s tweet shared a link to a story on The Chronicle Live (11:53), which featured a quote taken from an article by Football Insider that claimed that the club are ‘set to open new contract talks with Dwight Gayle’ in order to ‘prevent him quitting in January’, despite the fact the 30-year-old is ‘yet to play’ for Steve Bruce’s side this season, as he is ‘recovering from a knee injury’.
So, what did these Newcastle United fans make of the news their club look set to offer Dwight Gayle a new contract?

WOW the height of this clubs ambitions, we should be looking to replace him with something better before his contract runs out, while he is not that bad we should be looking for someone much better

Gayle joined Newcastle from Crystal Palace in what was a £10.8 million deal back in 2016, and has gone on to feature 93 times for the club, scoring 33 goals and providing 10 assists along the way.
Do you think Gayle should be given a new deal at Newcastle?
Yes
No
However, as previously mentioned, the £7.2 million-rated forward is yet to feature for the club this season, as a medial collateral ligament injury is due to keep him out of action until the end of October.
Hardly surprising with this management or lack of it

All in all, it would seem the vast majority of these Newcastle fans are furious at the news the club look set to offer the 30-year-old a new deal, with many claiming that it epitomises what they believe to be a lack of competent management within the club.
