Fans of Newcastle United have been reacting to a post on Twitter, in which Newcastle United winger Allan Saint-Maximin commented on his new contract with the club.

On Wednesday, Newcastle United’s official Twitter account posted a tweet which stated that the club were ‘thrilled to announce’ that Saint-Maximin had signed a ‘new six-year contract’ with Steve Bruce’s side.

The winger then quote-tweeted this post, adding the hashtag ‘2026’, as well as a clip from the film ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’, which played on the fact that he would not be leaving the club any time soon.

In reaction, fans of Newcastle flocked to have their say on the matter, with many appearing to be over the moon about the news.

Since arriving at Newcastle from OGC Nice in what was a £16.2 million deal in August 2019, Saint-Maximin has gone on to feature 34 times for the club, scoring five goals and providing eight assists along the way.

So far this season, the £28.8 million-rated 23-year-old has highly impressed for Newcastle, scoring one goal and providing one assist over his three Premier League appearances, averaging a WhoScored match rating of 7.03/10 – ranking him as the club’s second-best performer in the league.

Many more Newcastle fans appeared delighted with the fact that Saint-Maximin has signed a new deal at the club, with a great number of them taking to Twitter to share their joy.

All in all, it would seem that these Newcastle fans are delighted at the prospect of Saint-Maximin remaining at their club for the foreseeable future, and considering his performances for his side already this season, it is not difficult to see why.
