A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a post from Nick De Marco, who is one of the lawyers that Mike Ashley has hired in his legal dispute with the Premier League over the proposed takeover of Newcastle United by PCP Capital Partners, PIF, and the Reuben brothers.
De Marco, in his Twitter bio, is described as the “Lionel Messi of Sports Law” and his post of some bread, champagne, two bottles of Newcastle Brown Ale, and two bottles of Guinness has got these Newcastle fans suggesting that this is all one huge clue for the takeover.
One fan has ‘dissected’ the photo and thinks that the bread is cut in segments of 80%, 10% and 10%, which is how the proposed takeover was split, with PIF intending to become the majority owners of the Toon.
The champagne is called “Blanc de Noirs” – or “black and white” in English – perhaps relating to the Toon’s colours.
Newcastle Brown Ale was originally brewed in Newcastle, and Guinness’ slogan is “good things come to those who wait” is perhaps suggestive that Toon fans will get their takeover?
All of this does seem pretty bizarre, but either way, De Marco’s tweet has got many Newcastle fans talking.
Do you think there is anything to this?
No, it is just a coincidence
Yes, it is back on
The bread is cut 80 % and 10% and 10% and the broom ale ?it’s on lads get the cans back in the fridge ?

The deal proposed by PCP, PIF, and the Reuben brothers was withdrawn on 30th July after the Premier League refused to make a decision on it.
Newcastle released a statement in early September claiming that the deal had officially been rejected.
The league refuted this claim, and then Ashley appointed lawyers De Marco and Shaheed Fatima as he looks to force through the takeover.
This post from De Marco continued to attract interested Toon fans.

However, since then, everything has gone quiet, and it will be intriguing to see what the outcome is and if the deal does go through.
Certainly, this tweet is interesting, and it is clear that many Newcastle fans think that there is some hidden message, but of course, it could all just be a coincidence.
